Trilateral Research is proud to have been recognised at the PICCASO Awards Europe 2025, winning the Responsible AI & Data Ethics Initiative or Leadership: SME category.
The award celebrates organisations that demonstrate leadership in embedding ethical principles into the development and use of AI and data. The judges looked for examples of governance models, frameworks, or initiatives that ensure fairness, accountability, and societal impact in technological innovation.
Trilateral has a long-standing commitment to Responsible AI (RAI), which we approach via interdisciplinary research collaborations, applied ethics and innovation. Across its products, services, and research collaborations, Trilateral embeds ethics and social values leading to trustworthy, effective, and impactful AI systems.
Dr Hayley Watson, Director of Innovation & Research, explains:
This recognition reflects our mission to demonstrate that using a sociotechnical approach to embed fairness, accountability, safety, privacy, and responsibility into AI from the outset leads to more effective technologies that benefit industry and society. We’re honoured to be recognised among industry leaders who share our commitment to responsible innovation.
Our submission highlighted the breadth of Trilateral’s responsible AI practice, drawing on examples that show how ethics-driven design and cross-sector collaboration can deliver measurable results:
- MASC, which identifies personal data with 94–99% accuracy, supporting secure and compliant data sharing.
- MHRA, which scanned 5 million online listings in 48 hours, flagging 1,250 counterfeit medicine sellers ten times faster than manual review.
- AI literacy training, which has equipped over 550 practitioners across healthcare, finance, and government to apply responsible AI principles in practice.
Kush Wadhwa, CEO of Trilateral Research, commented:
This award is a testament to the dedication of our teams across research, consultancy, and product development, all united by a common purpose: ensuring that technology is created and applied safely and responsibly. It reinforces our belief that ethics, impact, and innovation not only can progress together—they must, if AI is to deliver meaningful and lasting value.
This recognition reinforces Trilateral’s ongoing commitment to advancing Responsible AI and data ethics. Read more about our work leading the way in Responsible AI and ethical innovation.
