We are pleased to announce that Trilateral Research has been recently appointed as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for the University of Cambridge Group, which includes the University of Cambridge, Cambridge University Press, and Cambridge Assessment.
‘We have engaged Trilateral Research as part of our drive to embed a data protection culture across the University of Cambridge Group’, said a University of Cambridge spokesperson.
As a part of its DPO service, Trilateral Research will provide insights and guidance on the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation and on the related applicable national and supranational legislation.
‘We look forward to our work with the University of Cambridge Group in their efforts to ensure effective implementation of GDPR principles and regulations over the coming years. We know that forward-looking organisations such as UoCG are deeply invested in ensuring that the data of their constituents is safeguarded and that their own reputation as an organisation is tied directly to their protection of the University community’s data and privacy. It is an important challenge that we are pleased to take on’, said Mr Kush Wadhwa, Director at Trilateral Research.
Our cutting-edge research continues to fuel the Trilateral Research DPO service as we work internationally with data protection authorities to deliver a clear understanding of the state-of-the-art on training for the GDPR. This work enables us to develop a harmonised set of materials that regulators can use to explain the new legislation to judges, civil servants, and DPOs.
The Cambridge DPO Team will be led by Dr Filippo Marchetti, under the supervision of Mr Wadhwa and Dr Rachel Finn.
