New technological approaches to addressing CSAM distribution

Abstract

This report explores emerging technologies that can aid law enforcement in combating the pervasive issue of online child sexual abuse material (CSAM) distribution. It highlights the potential of forensic linguistics, automated content generation, web crawlers, and real-time analysis to enhance undercover operations, a critical tool for identifying offenders. The article emphasises the need for these technologies to be developed and deployed in an ethical, legally compliant manner that respects privacy rights. It concludes by stressing the importance of law enforcement adapting to the evolving digital landscape to effectively investigate and prevent the exploitation of vulnerable children online.
