With the close of the BYTE project on Social, legal and ethical issues related to big data practice, the BYTE team is transitioning to the BYTE big data community (BBDC). In partnership with CNR-IIA, Siemens, Insight Centre and UIBK (as well as other partners), TRI is launching the Community to help support responsible big data innovation in Europe. Community members have the opportunity to link directly with industry and policy-makers through the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) and participate in the development of portions of the ICT work programme relevant to big data. We are asking for legal experts, academics, ethicists and civil society organiations to work with us to identify recommendations for responsible data analytics that would be useful for industry or policy-makers, or areas where further research is needed to ensure responsible practice. Members can write white papers, position papers or give presentations directly to industry and policy-makers at BDVA events. If you are interested in joining, please register here or contact lorenzo.bigagli@cnr.it or rachel.finn@trilateralresearch.com.
