Working on the WHO project, Mattheus has been researching the role dark social channels play in risk communication and their potential in promoting health messages and engaging with communities during future influenza pandemics and public health emergencies. From December 2021 onwards, Mattheus has been working on the HAMOC project, which provides an AI-powered analytics capability for machine-speed strategic analysis of the human environment. He had been a part of the Applied Research and Innovation team and is currently a member of the Sociotech for Good team.
Mattheus holds an BSc (Hons) in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (Cum Laude) and is currently pursuing both an LLB in Law and a BA in Philosophy at the University of Amsterdam.
